First Columbians

The First Columbians benefit for the Columbia County Historical Society was a smashing success. Held on the pastoral property of Lois Dickson, under one of the largest tents I have ever seen, over 275 guests enjoyed the perfect country setting.
For those who chose the optional dinners hosted in private homes, there was the added pleasure of dining in a private historic house. I was really happy to have been invited to the jewel in the crown property, the Vanderpoel House which is owned by the CCHS. This dinner was hosted by the events stellar co chairs, Deborah Dutton Minton and David Smith. Mary Stuart Masterson was at our table along with her mother, father and sister which only added to the fun of the evening. It was also a treat to walk home from dinner since it’s only two doors away from where I live.
