Charlotte Moss Decorates

What can one say about Charlotte Moss’ newest book, Charlotte Moss Decorates? To start with, the oeuvre is stunningly beautiful and filled with historical references that compliment the design concepts perfectly. More than that Moss offers a wealth of ideas that are easily implemented into even the most modest budget with her multiple Why Not… lists throughout the book. From cover to cover its a fantastic look into Moss’ methodology of designing beautiful livable rooms with no detail overlooked. It’s really one of the rare design books that leaves one wanting it never to end.

This is an example of one of the collage boards Charlotte uses to create her spaces. This one was for the Kips Bay Show House Bedroom she did in 2009.

One of my favorite detail shots from the book. The play of the reds and ivories is poetic.

Of course my favorite photo is of the room Charlotte did using my Beekman fabric in a my custom color. It was not only a terrific honor to have her use my fabric, but a lot of fun to work with her to achieve “her” color.

Opening night at Kips Bay with Charlotte. It was one of the best nights I ever had. Seeing my fabric in the finished room was really amazing!

Thank you Charlotte

Hot off the press, Charlotte Moss sent the photo of her room at the Kips Bay Designer Show House with my fabric in it. All I can say is thank you so much Charlotte. As expected, it is so beautiful and well done.

Moss is a genius, she had the fabric pleated into the design. What attention to detail.

I can’t wait to see it in person Thursday night at preview party.

Charlotte Moss and Kips Bay

How would one describe designer Charlotte Moss? Designer super star, philanthropic as the day is long and of course, a gracious lady. Yes. However, one has to add visionary to the list. It is of course designers like Charlotte that take risks and make design what it is. An art.
So you can image how excited I was when she emailed me to say her assistant was going to pull some samples of my collection at John Rosselli and Associates for a fantastic new project.
Charlotte has chosen my pattern Beekman in a custom color for one of the rooms she is doing at New York's very prestigious Kips Bay Decorator Show House, the grande dame of American show houses. To the tune of one hundred and fifty yards for curtains and walls.
I say WOW, this will be a must see!
