It's been a fun few months in the library at my house. Not only has there been a steady stream of wonderful new design books by many top designers arriving, but a few have had the additional delight of featuring some of my fabrics. There's nothing like the surprise of turning a page in a book and seeing a design that you created used in a project.
The wonderful designer Phoebe Howard used Fretwork in a home that was originally featured in House Beautiful magazine. The same room appears in more detail in her informative new book Room by Room. The book is a guide to creating warm and inviting interiors with Mrs. Howard's signature details.
One of the several images in the book that shows Fretwork.
Barbara Westbrook is one of Atlanta's power house designers whose chic euro country interiors are both sophisticated and comfortable. Her new tome Gracious Rooms is filled with designs ideas that can easily be translated to American rooms.
One of the great rooms in Barbara's book features the Victoria fabric from my collection on the windows. This graceful fern inspired design is one of my favorites.
The Bee Cottage Story by Frances Schultz reads like a novel you can't put down. The adventures and lessons of Frances' personal life intersecting with her renovation and decorating tales make for a thrill a minute read. For me an added bonus was seeing Fretwork in delft and how she used it in her master bedroom.
Fretwork in delft used as a headboard and draping.
