Tobi Fairley
It is always amazing to me the number of really great and talented people who blog for the sheer pleasure of expressing themselves. Tobi Fairley is an example of this. She is a great designer from Arkansas and also has time to write a terrific blog Tobifairley.com. She recently did a charming post on my fabric collection.
The other day I was in Barnes and Nobles looking at the magazines and spied South African House & Garden. What a thrill I had while flipping through it and seeing one my fabrics used in a spread. It's actually the same shot that British House and Garden used last fall, but none the less it was really cool to see Sutton in a South African publication!

The World of Interiors
When I was in Paris, I had the pleasure of reading the World of Interiors and discovered that my fabric was used on a two page spread! The February issue uses Venice scarlet on two chairs in pages 70 and 71. Thank you World of Interiors!

My Own Ode to Domino
I really feel the need to chime in on the unfortunate demise of Domino. I am really sick over the decision of Conde Nast to close it. What are they thinking? The world has ended? Do the egos know that markets come back and if you have a good product you stick with it. As one of my icons, Margaret Thatcher would say, "don't go wobbly on me now."

Domino was really one of the best magazines for chic, hip and affordable style, because they showed people how to do it.
As some may know, I was featured in the December / January '08 issue.
They had taken the exclusive of the project sight unseen, in fact I still hadn't seen it, because we ended up rebuilding the building. The stress of having promised Domino a shoot and getting the curtains made and the details on time, was almost unbearable.
When the two day shoot came I had the enormous pleasure of working with one of the best, Tori Mellot. I have known Tori for years socially, so I was more than surprised when she walked through the door and ran the shot like a drill sargent in Chanel. She has a great eye and is simply amazing to work with and like so many other of my editor friends should have a job.
Maison et Objet Update
I am back from Maison et Objet and busier than ever. The show, in spite of the closure, was very productive for both Carolina and I. We met some great designers from around the world and had a lot of interest from numerous showrooms.
The European attitude toward the financial crisis which proved to be very refreshing. It was yes there is a problem, but it will be fixed. Opposed to the American and British mindset of the sky is falling.
